In about six hours, my baby girl will walk out the door, drive away, and begin her Senior year of High School.
How did that happen?
I am so proud of the young woman that she’s become. She’s crazy smart, funny, endearing and has a heart the size of her birthplace (Texas).
She’s a gifted writer and a wonderful musician. She knows how to work hard and apply herself, and she knows how to have fun. She does not apparently know how to clean her room.
Most importantly, she is a kind, caring and compassionate person.
As she embarks on this momentous year and will soon turn a significant page in her march through the Book of Life, I just want her to know how much I love her.
If I remember correctly, you had that same “clean room” problem
as a teenager!
And he still does 🙂
Both of y’all can give me a break…
Time just flies doesn’t it Jay.
My kid is now 35 – I can still remember riding him on the handle bars of my bike when he was a little guy.
Wow, seems like last week not 30 years ago.
Sigh!
Indeed it does Wally…
There is more to life than a clean room! I can’t believe that your children and mine are so old. I regret that I wasn’t a better aunt. love you much!
You’re a good aunt. They do grow up swiftly don’t they?
THere is nothing like a daughter. Nothing.
I found my way here this morning for the first time and made my way through your other writings – I always love how you string together words but I just knew this post was going to make me cry before I read one stinkin’ word. Sure enough… I’m a sucker for a Dad!
