So, Superbowl XLVIII happened. We don’t really need to rehash the results, do we? Let’s just say I missed my prediction by a wee bit…
For the first time in my life, I reside in a city that has won a major sports championship.
So what’s it like for a life-long Broncos fan living in Seattle?
Let’s say…… somewhat sucky.
I live in downtown Seattle, on 4th Avenue. So where did the Seahawks decide to have their homecoming parade? Right down the middle of 4th Avenue, naturally.
This was the scene outside my front door, 2 hours prior to the start of the parade:
And this is what it looked like from the rooftop deck of my apartment:
Seattle PD estimated the crowd at 700,000. That’s pretty amazing given the population of Seattle is about 630,000.
There were no arrests. Kudos to the citizens of Seattle for not going ape-shit and doing stupid things.
Even as a Broncos fan, I have to admit that it was pretty cool to experience the homecoming parade.
What does suck is the chanting of SEA! HAWKS! that happens outside my apartment at 3am — a full four days after the game ended.
We LOVE Comments! Come on, do it...
